I stayed at this hotel with a friend in April 2013. The hotel is in a central position, a short walk from O'Connell Street, close to restaurants, pubs and all the places of interest. The rooms are small and basic but clean and tidy. Perfect for a few days stay. The breakfast is plentiful and varied. The staff is helpful and kind.

Great place to stay, consistently friendly service, good value, good breakfast, good location, good value - I have stayed frequently over the past five weeks and have no adverse comments about the venue or the service! The only thing I would say is that it is disappointing that the price has risen since the beginning of March but that is life, I suppose!

The town house is becoming the place I always stay in now when I'm in Dublin. It can't be beaten on friendliness and value for money. Plus being able to leave your luggage all day after checking out is great if your staying in Dublin a bit longer. Will be back soon.

This was my 4th stay at the Townhouse - I found it by accident many years ago, and I really am glad I did. Ideal quiet location, on the airport bus route, friendly, helpful staff, 24 hour access (which you need in this city!), clean rooms and a full cooked breakfast to die for. Only a few minutes walk into the main lively areas which is ideal - I would always recommend this place (and I have to several friends) - no question about it!!

This was my third stay at the Townhouse. It's location is ideal, only a couple of minutes walk away from the city centre and even less to the bus station. The staff are always friendly and the rooms are always clean and comfortable. Its not too expensive for a nights stay and breakfast is included in the price. I will be staying again at the end of August while in Dublin.

This is the review I posted on Trip Advisor Don't read this review if you would prefer to stay in a four star bland hotel or in the centre of Dublin's touristy area where music and enthusiastic travelers party on till the wee small hours. BUT if you want a great little hostel central to everything then The Townhouse Hotel has it all. We picked this place to start our two week holiday of Ireland. It is 100 meters from the drop off from the airport bus, a five minue walk to the main street O'Connell, and a ten minute walk to the well known Temple Bar area. Everyone comes here, families, couples, backpackers, of all ages. At the free and plentiful breakfast this morning, I saw a two year old munching on cornflakes and an eighty year old tucking into a 'full Irish'. Rooms are small but comfortable and cutely named after plays written by the famous Irish playwright and good liver, Dion Boucicault. Ours was interestingly named 'Japanese Miscellany'. Ask for a room with a balcony that overlooks the small garden area below. Staff and more than accommodating for the streams of holiday makers who pass through each day. Some car parking is available for a small fee and it is an easy ten minute stroll to Europcar - one of the largest car hire companies in the country. The hotel is quirky with interesting memorabilia peppered throughout revealing posters and writings about the building's past lives. Although wi-fi is not available in the rooms, there is a lounge area where Internet is easily accessed. And who wants to spend hours in their room on Facebook! Boarding passes can be printed using the hotel's free computers for guests use. My husband and I loved staying here when we arrived in Dublin and returned at the end of our holiday for our final night. Congratulations to Maureen and her staff for creating a warm, interesting and welcoming hostel that would appeal to all ages.

We stayed at the Townehouse on our final night in Ireland so it was bitter sweet…
We stayed at the Townehouse on our final night in Ireland so it was bitter sweet. We enjoyed our time in the country and our last night at the Townehouse was equally enjoyable. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. We found parking right around the corner in a secure parking ramp. It was close to all the downtown places; for example we walked to Temple Bar and the location was excellent for getting back to the airport. Thanks again, we very much enjoyed our stay.

We are eternally grateful to the wonderful woman at the front desk. Arrived from Boston drenched, weary and very early in the morning, but were admitted due to a room cancellation and so happy to be there. Enjoyed your hotel very much, cozy room, lovely breakfast, great location. Best of luck in continuing success. We will definitely recommend you!!!

I picked this hotel because of its proximity to the Convention Centre - it is convenient also to the city centre. I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff. The room was not huge but had a good sized bathroom and was clean. The free breakfasts certainly filled you up for the day! Free wifi (in the lounge) and computer access are great inclusions. I would definitely recommend as a place to stay when visiting Dublin.

Adresse correcte à Dublin, très bien situé tout près du centre à pied. Ce bed and breakfast de par sa taille et son fonctionnement s'apparente plus à un hotel. La chambre était spacieuse et assez calme, car donnant sur la cour. Le breakfast est servi sur le mode cafeteria, grande salle donnant sur le jardin, selon l'heure il peut y avoir un peu de queue mais le service est efficace. Un plus, le garage que l'on peut réserver à l'avance, payant mais pour peu de temps ça permet de ne pas se préoccuper du stationnement. En bref, une adresse que l'on peut recommander.

I have stayed at the Townhouse several times through the past 10 years. Fantastic location in the city center, and now near the Air Link bus to the airport. It is definitely value for money as the price includes breakfast. The staff are friendly and helpfull. It has all that is required for a comfortable stay in Dublin. Unfortunatly it is often fully booked when I need a room. On line booking is uncomplicated, easy. Thank you

We were extremely satisfied with the hotel. The staff (especially Patricia) couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. We were there for a funeral and they called a taxi for us to go to the church and checked again by phone that it was on its way on the morning of the funeral. They explained where the various bus stops are for the airport and the tourist bus; and suggested several places to eat in the evening, as they only serve breakfast. The breakfast was very good, and there was plenty of it.

I thought it was great that there were computers available for the guests to use. This was a complete lifesaver as I was traveling without one. I stayed a few nights at the Gresham Hotel, but without good computer access and was so thankful to know when I'd be coming back to the Townhouse that that resource would be available for me. Also I found the beds very comfortable and the staff flexible and accommodating with my varied schedule.

I would recommend the Townhouse to anyone who wants a short break in Dublin.We stayed there in early September this was our 2nd stay as we stayed there also in Dec 2010, it is are very nice place to stay with a very friendly and helpful staff and a great breakfast to boot,also it is only a 2 to 3 min walk to O'Connell street.

I thought the reception staff were excellent. Very friendly & helpful especially when we had a problem getting our car started when we were due to leave. The room, though small had a good toilet/shower-room and was kept clean and tidy. Breakfasts were adequate. Location very good. Vale good as I think an equivalent hotel in London would have cost more. This was despte finding Eire a very expensive plave generally for a holiday.

No complaints. The room was great, the breakfast was fab, and the staff were courteous and considerate. Great value. To nitpick, soundproof/double-glazed windows for the morning rush hour. I would stay again and recommend highly.

This is a great place to stay if you're looking for a simple, reasonably priced but very comfortable B&B. The location is ideal, easy walking distance from everything. The staff was friendly and helpful. My room was small but clean and comfortable. I would absolutely recommend the Townhouse for people who want a few steps above a hostel but not luxury either. Great place!
